William Skinner (1874-)

Laura Hartley nee Marston (1883-)

Laura Marston married Teddie Hartley in 1907. They had one child Robert

The Family of Laura Hartley nee Marston (1883-)

Robert farmed at Sawley with his father and later worked for Craddocks, relations of the Hudsons. Robert Hartley married Elsie Julian in 1947. They had no children.

Harold Marston (1884-1933)

Harold Marston never married and was a farmer. Harold died on 28th November 1933 at 65 Kirk Lane, Yeadon. Probate was granted on 8th January 1934 at Wakefield to Laura Hartley, wife of Teddie Hartley. His effects were £1502 10s 10d.

Fred Marston (1885-1917)

Fred Marston never married, worked on the farm and was killed in France on 18th May 1917.

Harry Marston (1886-)

Harry Marston became a grocer and had a shop at 54 Park Lane, Bradford between 1912 to 1916 and then moved to a shop at 368 Manchester Rd, Bradford. He married Ellen (Nellie) Waite on the 27 October 1913 at the Richmond Terrace Wesleyan Methodist Chapel, Bradford. They had 4 children.

The Family of Harry Marston (1886-)

Edward Marston married May Milward and had two children Alan and Christine. Edward was an accountant, as was his son Alan.

Hilda married William Moore, a fireman, and had two sons Andrew and Robin.

Lillian married William Hunt.

Donald worked with his father in the shop and did not marry.

In the appendix there is a photograph of Harry Marston and his shop in Park Lane and a photograph of Harry and Donald at their second shop. 

Edward Marston (1889-1915)

Edward Marston did not marry and died on 29 March 1915

Bertie Marston (1891-1978)

Bertie married Mary Eliza Petty on 5 June 1916 at the Wesleyan Chapel, Idle. Bertie was a grocer and worked with his older brother Harry. He then had an egg and butter business that he conducted from a horse drawn cart, probably from Cloudsdale St (Ave?), Bradford.

The couple had two children, Roland and Marjorie.

 

Roland served in the second world war and was wounded. Roland did not marry, . Marjorie married a Pearson and had twins, only one of which, Pamela, survived.
