The children were all born around Norwood cum Clifton, although censuses differ in detail. In 1851 the family were at Weston. The censuses of 1861 and 1871 documents the family at Clifton. Joseph died on 15th January 1875. Probate was granted at Wakefield on 18th June to his widow Martha. His effects were less than £200. In 1881 Martha was a widow farming with her son Joseph. By 1891 she was still farming with her son Robert. It is believed that Martha died in Q1 1900.
